At the age of about 5 is when I got my 1st perm...oh how it burned the living day light out of my scalp. My mom had me looking like slick rick (ha!).. I'm assuming my mother thought I had really "bad" "nappy" hair, but I didn't I just had hair that wasn't conditioned, and moisturized. From the age of 5 til early last year I've been getting perms. Even if I didn't have a perm on my whole head I would be sure to slap that creamy crack on my edges! It wasn't until recently that I learned that my texture of hair is very soft and fine. A little TLC and my hair wasn't as "nappy" as thought it was.
May 16, 2010 was the day i decided that I no longer wanted a perm. Why should I torture myself so I could fit in what society thinks beauty is. From that day forward I wore weaves (because I was in the awkward stage of letting my short hair grown out). I've worn every style from is individuals to corn rows to weaves...Now I'm ready to embrace the hair that God gave me and let my soul glow lol
My goal is to have extremely GOOD hair. Also I would love to have my hair reach the middle of my back but if it doesn't oh well...I'll be happy with the healthiness
